New iphone/ipod jailbreak, stupid simple.

Equate, have you tried putting android on one of your old iphones? I am thinking of trying it on my 3g once I get my 4.

I have all the stuff to do it, but the only 3g phones I have are plagued with wifi issues so I can't install it.

My buddy just bought a few more and some of them are good, so I'm gonna try it on one of those.

r13 was just released, but I can't seem to find the download for it anywhere. I have a copy of r12d but I wanna use quadra.

Dont get installous, its a load of crap now. Back in the 1.x ans 2.x days, it was great, then fast-forward some and cydia came out. It was much better, quicker, and more organized. Then to get back in the game the people that made installulous made ICY which also sucked in my opinion. So basically cydia is where its at. I love it over the others.

But I havent jailbroken mine since 3.1.2(dont know what firmware they are at now) but I had to downoad the firmware too. You can get it free from tysiphonehelp.com

that place also has some good info and does reviews on apps & shyt.

Umm installous and cydia are not even remotely the same thing. What you said makes no sense at all.

Cydia has nothing directly to do with stealing paid app store apps.

I am fairly new to the iphone but what are the advantages of a jailbreak? I know it opens the phone to different apps and shit but what are the real advantages?

So, I recently jailbroke my phone using the site listed in the original post. I'm having troubles downloading torrents though.

I downloaded dtunes and am able to download and listen to individual songs. I tried to download a couple of complete albums using the torrents, but I can't get it to work.
Here's what I do:

1. In dtunes, I go to "search" and click on the "torrents" tab, then I search for the album I want. Once I find what I want, I click download.
2. Next, I go to the "browse" section and I find the torrent I downloaded. I click on it and it prepares.
3. I open mobile terminal and type in the command ./gettorrent and then it starts doing a bunch of things.
4. When I go back to dtunes and click on it, it doesn't play anything.

I tried deleting the album and trying it again on a different one, but still no go.
Anyone have any advice on this?

I did this for one purpose:

To block phone numbers.

It's 2010 and these damn phones can do everything under the sun except refuse a call from the same fax number that calls 4 times a day. fuck that and whatever contract's fault this stupidity is, blocking numbers should have been a feature from day 1.

No you would just update with itunes. Do not update to 4.02 or 3.22 it closes the bug to be able to jailbreak.
