The Salesman (Josh Hartnett's character) was a hitman, hired by Gail (Rosario Dawson) to take out girls who tried to cut shady deals outside of the truce with the mob/cops to get out of old town, like the girl in the first scene, and Becky at the end.

Yea I saw it, some was confusing having never read anything about the comic or anything in general about the background. But the gore and violence was awesome. Nothing was better than the scene with the neo-nazi guy getting shot with the arrow, looking down, and just saying HEY! priceless. Or the dudes head that was like falling off while he was talking. So many cringing moments.

Just got back from seeing it... HOLY SHIT! so much fucking gore... very sweet movie same style as pulp fiction, kinda. I haven't ever read the comic but the way it recipricates is awesome. Great Movie.

the film was true to the comic tooth and nail

granted they skipped over minor little thing, they did leave alot open for a sequel.

Hartigan was indeed a badass motherfucker, and his story rocked. Bruce Willis played the role perfectly.

I'll stick with the film pic of Kevin, Elijah Wood was just HAUNTING.
