Bullshit, that looks nothing like a modern lotus.

I just hope it doesnt end up being yet another shitty throwback in an attempt to get some headlines (which it will be).

Which means unless changed it will never make it to the states if ever produced in the 1st place.

Knock Offs were outlawed in in 1967, but the feds Via the DOT.

Knock offs are not the same as mono lugs.

Do you not get the latest GT3 / GT2 / Turbo models from porsche? They're all monolug, as was the Carrera GT.

Well 66 was the last year for the Knock off on the vette, whose design is nearly identical to that of Porsche, and the current race offerings from Pratt and Miller. In fact all pin drive center locks have nearly the same designed.

I will have to say I cant find it, I guess it was not necessarily the hub/affixing design that was the NHTSA/ DOT's problem it was the "spinners" that were used as the center hub nut.

And really to be honest I had always wondered how or what loop hole Porsche was getting the GT into the US with a center lock wheel.

Now I know learn something every day ;)

                              1. Looks quite similar to the original Stratos - how could that be called "lotus-y"?? There were cars around before Elise and Exige you know.

                              2. And even if it is "lotus-y" - that's (paraphrasing Clarkson) like accusing your wife of looking too much like Cindy Crawford.
