32k miles can well be 132k miles or even 232k miles as the tripmeter never went beyong 99,999 in this days. Low mileage cars should have a heavy stack documenting the mileage.

it should be fairly easy to discern 32k from 132k in person.

How did it get 32k miles on it if it was covered in a garage for 38 years,,,,that's a stupid claim,,,,,,,

Not at all, because once it reaches 99,999 miles, then it goes back to 0 miles. hence the 32,000 miles could be 132,000, 232,000 or even 332,000 full cycles.

It is the "grandson" who's selling the car, so he can pretend anything and then claim he didn't know... Classic.

He's talking about the overall condition of a 32,000 mile car vs. a 132,000 mile car. They're not going to look alike.

Of course. But even back in the days of the 2002 and 3.0CS, some cars would turn into rust buckets within 3 years being driven in winter's salt. Therefore the mileage is not as important as the car's condition. and when the seller pretends that the car is perhaps a classic... come one. he sure knows. It's a bait. The dude pretends to be innocent. So why ask $26k if he knows nothing about cars. Dude knows way more than he pretends.
