Anyone ever catch a Raccoon/ raise one as a pet??

My Uncle had one, cute when little but possessive/destructive when older. Doesn't make for a good house pet.

The closest to that I have seen, would have to be one of my friends, when I was younger his mother had a raccoon that would regularly come through his window, inside and eat the plate of food that they always left on their microwave. It wasnt catching it, but it came ofter for a while and started to gain trust for them.

NO. You can get domesticated skunks without scent glands, and declawed, but why would you want a rodent/vermin as a pet?

I know someone who has. He just raises them for two years then lets them go. Haha it was a baby and they would hold it. Haha I even pet it.

That was in Southern Illinois though.

I fed cheezits to a racoon in florida. Then the little sonuvabitch stole a sandwich from behind my back.

The only reason I ask is because Ive heard some baby raccoons (or at least what I think are babies) behind my house and I have been wondering if its possible to raise them from a baby if caught. I mean I don't wanna piss off any mother but If people have Ferrets and Opossums as pets then why not a Raccoon... But theres also a website where you can purchase a baby Raccoon with shots and what not but not sure if its totally worth it...

I don't find raccoons cute at all they just look like overgrown rats with rabies. On the topic of wild animals for pets my mom adopted an orphan skunk and raised it, she had it for like a year and it never sprayed her or her dogs once.

I adopted some baby skunks once. My dog ate the mother, so I took it upon myself to feed them until they were old enough to run off and spray shit. They were really cute, and I considered getting their scent glands removed, but it was too expensive and my dog obviously has issues with skunks. Long story short, probably not a good idea, if it goes as well as mine did you'll find them dead on the highway in front of your house and stink everything up...

on a side note, i did have a pet squirrel however, only till it was old enough to fend for itself then i released her.
