    Euro Backpack Trip

Tomorrow I leave for a 2.5 month backpack and train trek through Western Europe. I have a Eurail pass that is good for unlimited rides on any train in Western Europe for 3 months. My itinerary (subject to change), is as follows: I will be starting in Paris, then west to Caen, then I will make my way south to Barcelona and the South of France. Then I will be moving East where I will spend time with relatives in Venice and Florence. After that I will be heading off on my own to relax in Croatia then North to Salzburg, Munich, Rothenburg, Berlin and Prague and finally my last weeks or days will be spent at my cousins apartment in Stockholm. I am really stoked and kind of nervous at the same time because I don't know what to expect. I will try to post pictures if I can depending on how much time I have. So wish me luck and if you have any helpful advice feel free to share.

P.S. - Any Euro members have an extra bed or couch I could crash on? I would gladly compensate with beer. :)

You will thoroughly enjoy Praha. Also, I found that the euro rail pass is worthless and limits which trains you can take when. You'll end up buying more tickets anyway. ENJOY and bring back pictures of sick e30s!

Make sure you visit the Wörthersee if possible. The place is awesome, its where the biggest VW meet happens every year, but its full of baller cars, smaller meets etc. almost all year round.

Be carefull where you exchange your money, never on borders, though you'll mostly be paying in Euros. In Prague, exchange money in a bank and watch out for black and arab drug dealers and money exchangers. They'll give you terrible rates. The same case is in Croatia, Bulgarians will try to sell you their worthless old currency.

I have budgeted about 100 bucks a day and a large credit limit just in case. Also, I will have a free place to stay when I am with relatives in Italy and Sweden. I expect to come back with some money left in my bank account.

                              Good luck, Holmes.

And having money in your bank account when you get back? Pipe dream ;) I have an ex-gf that did one and a half months across Europe. She came back $1,700 over budget which was already budgeted at around $200 a day. She also stayed frugal as hell.

Good luck none the less. Take a lot of pictures.
                              Need a part? PM me.
