      well yea, trouble explaining its his bike is a thing...but its more like, id rather not have people around here that i know (or barely know) to see me/him "snatching" a bike


      ive read about the bic pen thing, ill have to try it out

          I work at a bike shop, and usually the best thing is if the key hole is at the end of the shackle and there is at least 1 inch or so from the U portion to the end of the shackle, best thing would be to put a tight fitting pipe thats about 2.5-3 feet long on it over the locking core and try to break it that way. Its been done several times and i know it works, just not exactly sure which length would be better, although longer would provide more leverage....

              No, the kryptonite u-locks got recalled because someone found out you could open the locks with a simple bic pen and then there was an article about it in the paper, so everybody knew. I work at a bikeshop, and we had fun replacing all of the locking mechanism to the new kind (when i say "we" i meant my manager... I was playing games and browsing the forums on the comp while she was doing that). It's a little tricky at first, but pops open really easily once you get it right.
