Glad to hear, I wanted it but was too much $ for me, plus I've been dealing with insurance things due to my ST being totaled. I am now in the market for a cheap yet reliable bike now though to keep the miles off my behemoth of a new to me LX 470.

I've done the sportbike thing, and I wouldn't mind a Ducati Monster but also considering something still cheaper but reliable of the 70's era.

I'm always building and selling bikes, got a 79 Yamaha XS750 up next that I will prob list for around 2-2500 depending on how much it needs into it if that interests you, aiming to look something like this (mine will be a gray tank with gray motor and black accents)

That's a great looking bike. It's always funny seeing them blokes riding those type of wheelers around here. Scarves, old school skull caps, WWII aviator goggles and nap sacks.

Have you seen the custom mono rear shock viragos done? Something I wan't to have one day.

Downz, keep at it. Always look forward to this thread.

Ugh, was behind behind on my regs on my vfr and it was a painful $190 to re register. I'm a dumbass and so is california!

                    More virago porn: Ugh!

Thanks man I appreciate it. It's funny you mentioned the old Viragos, Ive been keeping my eyes out for one, as I want to build something very similar to that orange one. If memory serves me right that is an XV920, which are some what rare and sought after for such a conversion. I want to venture into the V-twin neighborhood at some point, and having a Yamaha would be the best of both worlds, although I've been seeing modern sportster pop up here and there for cheap, so we will see

I have an XV920 that I built to a crappy hard tail bobber in College. Not sure if you know, but those bikes are riddled with starter engagement issues. Last time I did research on the matter the only way you could really solve it is to swap all starter gears/mechanisms from a Virago 750. If it wasn't for that and mine being shaft driven I'd be more inclined to not have it rot in a barn.

No problem brother! I think its the 750? Or at least that's what the picture description is giving me for this docshops job. Make sense they're getting rare. Great looking platforms but as Brianao, mentioned below, I have no idea about yamaha issues or perfomance from that era.

thats good to know, shame there wasn't a kick start option, wonder how difficult it would be to swap one to the 750 gears, or if its just easier to grab a 750 instead.

Most cafe racer conversions I've seen have been the XV920 platform, if the 750 is similar, which I'm assuming it is, then I'm sure that will suffice. 750 v-twin isn't the biggest bike, but it shouldn't be a slouch either once you strip some shit off of it

Taking a lil break to go play! Buddy of mine lends me these quads whenever I want (I fix them and keep them from rotting, as he never rides them but doesnt want to sell them, If he doesnt sell me that Raptor, I will be buying one just like it, awesome machine) so me and two buddies are heading up north to whats called "The Cinders". Bad ass riding, all volcanic ash, almost sand like, huge hill climbs, and a ton of fun. They used to train the Astronauts here at "Crater Lake" as its very similar to the moon surface I guess

You were at Cinders? Small world. I was in Flag myself at a friend's family cabin. Most of his family left from his cabin to go to Cinders - if we didn't have other friends coming to his cabin we probably would have gone to Cinders too. Hell, even the family in the cabin next door named their dog Cinder.
