I found this guys site through the Mike Tyson Mansion pictures..
He also did a tour of Military Bases that are amazing. The nike sites for the Cold War defense systems are amazing. Check it out here..
Pretty cool/ amazing stuff
Cleveland cars and coffee takes place accross the road from this abandoned hotel. In fact, one of the pictures from inside the hotel shows the location. Last year, I noticed that one of the upper floors must have been on fire at one point.
I have very fond memories of my childhood summer trips to Geauga Lake. It almost brings a tear to my eye to see some of that stuff in such disrepair. Raging Wolf Bobs was the greatest roller coaster in the history of amusement parks. 100% wood, made terrifying rickety noises and beat the absolute hell out of your body.
Every old person around here has stories about this fabled park. There were even plans a while back where a group was going to restore it as close as possible to the way it was, but that never really came to fruition.
I remember when this drive-in was still operating in the 80's. I'm not sure, but I think I remember watching a movie there once as a kid.
Two of my mom's uncles were tired of the family cotton picking business in the south and moved up here to get a job at Babcock & Wilcox. Their younger sister (my grandmother) ended up following them up north eventually.
My grandparents on my dad's side met in the department store mentioned in these pictures. My grandmother was a cashier at Woolworth's in the 1940's and my grandpa kept coming in and pestering her until she would go out with him.
If you like this kind of stuff, you would have a field day up here. Some of the abandoned buildings will just amaze you. Northeast Ohio was once one of the wealthiest places on earth. I've been in some of the buildings dowtown built from the Victorian era through the 1960's. The architecture is simply astonishing. Most of the buildings are only being occupied on the bottom floor while the rest sits vacant. I would love to have free rein to explore through some of them.Comment

Here is a different one - group of people snuck into the old Buffalo Memorial Auditorium (former home of the Buffalo Sabres until 1996). Very cool stuff...
