Do something that wont beat the shit out of your body. Working on other people's cars is fun..... for a while. Then you're body breaks down and you find out you just wasted those years on being a mechanic instead of something you can keep doing till your 70+.

...that is if you don't make it working for a race team of course.
Work over the age of 70!? Are you insane!? i wanna retire at least at 63 LOL!

Ask my dad, he'll tell you how bad his back hurts every day and how he can't do hardly any of the physical stuff he used to love to do. He'll tell you how much pain he's in every day, but he has to endure it because there's still bills to be paid. He'll tell you that he pretty much hates working on cars outside of work. He goes in really early, and comes home late-ish. I talk to him every day, thank him regularly for the life he provided for me, the opportunities, at the complete sacrifice of his own life and body. I see what it's done to him... If you're "dreaming big" about being an automotive tech, please, have your head examined.
You are right. I read an article in a mustang performance magazine a few months ago. The owner of a 10 second ford Lightning F-150 was a woman you went to trade school for mechanics, but she chose to work on helicopters for a living so she wouldn't get tired of working on her personal toys. Makes alot of sense. thank you!

I was in your situation, but I decided that I'm just gonna march through it and become an aerospace/mechanical engineer. A few years in college is a small price to pay to be ballin' down the road. You won't be able to socialize as much, but there's plenty of time for that once your out of school.
thank you! you are right also. I wish i woulda finishe my mechanical engineering degree at Florida Atlantic University. Life happened and now im married with a baby boy. I love my wife and son and wish i woulda had it together to give them a better life. But im still young (27) and will be going back to school next year. I may not always be able to have a full load of courses, but little by little i will finish my credits.

my mom got her bachelors degree in nursing, she only works 3 days a week and make like $35/hr! My cousin who is only a year older than me, got a nursing degree and started out making $28/hr in the NICU. holding newborn babies aint hurting her back at all LOL! She already bought her first home one year outta college. Education is truly the key to better yourself in these times.
