Anyone dropping the cash for Fallout: New Vegas?

I'll be purchasing my copy tomorrow morning at my local Gamestop. I was gonna get the Collector's Edition, but after seeing the extras in person. It's not really a must have for me. I'll gladly use that extra $20 towards the M50 swap.

I'm gonna get it this weekend when I'm home and I can use Mommy's card. Just going with the regular, although I DO want a vault-boy bobble head. I love the game enough to pay for one.

The NV Collector's Edition doesn't come with a bobble head which is a huge bummer for me. If it had come with something comparable to the lunchbox from Fallout 3, maybe I would have sprung for the Collector's Edition.

Wasn't a big fan of Fallout 3. Hated the shooting system.

Bear in mind I didn't play Fallout 1 or 2 however.

I never played 1 or 2. It's completely a love/hate thing with the VATS shooting. In certain situations, it'd be better/easier to just aim and fire instead of using VATS. I think too, that the same amount of damage should be awarded for either method. In 3, it was designed to primarily use VATS. Not sure about NV yet. VATS made the game WAY to easy, IMO.

Played all evening. The game play is pretty much the same as Fallout 3, with a few minor additions.
But that's a good thing, in my book.

i loved fallout 3. i have every single expansion. at least 100 hours of play time. at least. i explored every nook and cranny. i walked across the entire d.c. wasteland. my character is level 30, every single stat maxed out, and fears absolutely nothing. in fact, i started using just pistols. for shits and giggles. loved that game.

now... fallout new vegas... ahh... for some reason, the graphics are exactly the same and yet it runs really badly on my computer. and i have even upgraded my ram to 8gb in the mean time. a lot of stuttering in high action events. i dont like the new skill book / skill magazine deal.

while i love iron sights in games like cod, it feels a bit out of place in fallout to be perfectly honest. i always wished i had them in fallout 3, but now that i do it just seems odd. i dont like the integration of more realistic guns alongside the regular fallout 3 guns. some futuristic 10mm pistol with blocky sights and a standard browning with triton sights right alongside each other seems disconnected.

i want to love this game, but i just dont know yet.

Agreed but besides the shooting, I found the game to be really boring.

Paging Davey101, who every time I sign onto Live the last few days he's been online playing it instead of doing school work.

I loved Fallout 3. I don't have the cash for New Vegas now but I'll probably save it for Christmas (yeah, at 20 I still make Santa a Christmas list).
