Subaru Mediocrity

I rarely see an STi block make it to 100k without needing a new motor. My friend is actually about to rebuild his at 93k cause he cracked his piston. Which is common for subarus to do being they have oil and cooling issues with those blocks and the design with piston 3.

What is it about the "design of the block and piston 3" that causes them to crack?

All Subaru buyers in Utah must be complete 'tards as plenty of people in Japan, UK, Australia and New Zealand can get well over 300,000km on their EJ20/EJ22/EJ25s. What are you guys doing wrong?

What is a "rallispec" block? EJ205? EJ207? EJ255? EJ257? Group N, Group A, WRC?

Subaru knows this, they had to mess with the deck clearance on cylinder 3 because of the motor mount setup.

Who exactly have you been talking to about these engines? Have you gone in and measured this stuff, or are you taking your info off some goon on NASIOC?

Rallispec is a motor building company. I think the compete in Rally America, but I don't know specifics. Just that they build Subaru motors. Read on about what went back and forth, it wasn't just piston 3, and I outlined it pretty clearly. Also, I'm pretty sure this is just a USDM problem because of emissions regulations.

I prefer the Lancer series over the bigger one for some reason. Still miss the 2.5rs though.
