a large number of people - illegal dealers, illegal growers, medical growers and even dispensaries....All to protect their own profits+1 for all that, I've no problem with legalization (although I wouldn't/couldn't start smoking anyways, I'm in the Marine Corps reserve).
Prop 19 though, just seems silly. Almost as if someone had the section I brought up written in 'on purpose'...to kill its chance of passing.

It isn't over yet, only 15% of precincts have reported.
Personally, I don't see why we in this country can't treat weed like what it is...An intoxicating consumable...just like alcohol
If legalization comes to pass I really would hope for them to, honestly, be treated in a similar fashion...
don't show up to work drunk/drink at work
don't drive drunk
don't drink in public (like on the street corner)
don't bring alcohol onto school grounds
These are all things that, if i were making the rules, would apply to MJ just the same. the tricky part is enforcement...can't really breathalyze for *how* high someone is
EDIT: still 56% 44% with 17% reported
this seems way too stable...something aint right
the big part is like you said, you can't easily detect it like you can alcohol.

This is true. Abenstee ballots to be counted which always takes additional time to tally.
I will say this - a decade ago, the pro & con camps for pot legalization is this state were far apart, but the gap between the two has been narrowing. As opinions continue to change/evolve with time, I bet we'll see the day when it does become legal. As liberal as California is, its only a matter of time.

Yeah, that is a tough one to tackle. In the workplace at least, when you are observing the same group of people 5+ days a week 8+ hours at a time, you can tell when a guy isn't acting as normal (for whatever reason), and send him home for the day to cool his heels. The thing that sucks is, if you send a guy for post-accident - or even random - drug testing, and he pisses hot, you really have no proof that he was under the influence while he was at work.
Of course, that doesn't apply to driving, 'high in public', etc...
If the percentage split stays as it is, I can't imagine absentee ballots having much effect, if any.1991 318iS

I don't smoke but it would be nice if my (future) kids could get better school funding and I didn't have go through ball joints every 3 fucking years because my state has no money to fix my roads. So it sucks for more than just stoners.
