        I'm wondering if you didn't reattach a loose vacuum line when working on the carb & fixed the phantom brakes without realizing it.

          thats the model with the column that tilts out of the way when you exit. sweet.

          Looks like a cool old boat. i think ive totally forgottten how to dick around with point ignition, i know an electronic one is pretty inexpensive for these.

          The dieseling is most likely due to the car running super rich still.

            Yeah a points conversion kit is only like $50 from summit for this car, I think I will leave it alone for now since it seems to be working fine, maybe some day in the future I will convert it if it becomes to much of a pita.

            I would suspect the dieseling to be from running rich and deposits on the plugs that are still glowing once the car is shut down.

              id only say to do it because you then have a car that runs alot better all the time, especially in crappy weather. the MPG's dont hurt either.

              And youre correct. lucky you dont have a car to melt down in that beast :p
