I used to listen to alot of Opeth/slayer metal ect but i've transitioned into more hardcore/metalcore.

Awesome aussie band, the amount of people they get to gigs purely from aussie pride is epic.
Parkway Drive - Carrion (Live in Brisbane, Australia)

Bring Me The Horizon - These guys supported Bullet for my Valentine here in Aus in Sep. They asked everybody to please go out and buy their new record because they want to come here all the time,
so everybody did, and they went to the Number 1 album in Australia. Which the media jumped on as a sign that the industy was struggling with piracy just because this hardcore band had beat out the entire music charts.

Upcoming 'Soundwave Festival' here in Aus. Epic lineup

i although i completely disagree with this comment, i see where you're coming from. So with that said, i just want to ask you something, to make/help you think about the mind set of a metalhead; If they're all just kids dying there hair, and listening to it as a means of "fighting the power". where does that leave the musicians and composers of the music? sure, some of it can be written as a means of rebellion, but being a metal guitar who's trained in the style of 18th century harmonizing theory, i really do think that there is far more passion involved in a song than most other genres of music.

just something to think about. no hate. no attempt at making you a metal head, just trying to help you understand it.

Here is my contribution to this thread. I wish shows still were fun like this, and bands didn't try so hard to be 'evil' or some lame shit. I miss the days of shows like this.

Also, keep that devil wears prada, and that other garbage out of a metal thread.

Thats an old as shit song about on an album about jack the ripper. maybe i'm off base here, but i dont think the message is to kill whores, just like the message of pretty much any satire isn't taken at face value. What i gather (not a HUGE whitechapel fan, so someone correct me if i'm wrong) is that the whole point is the opposite, pointing out the horrors and corruption of humanity. Not like the umbrella genre of metal is where you turn for uplifting and cheery lyrics anyway.Fuck Whitechapel. I don't listen to songs about raping women and talking about how they deserve it.
