A number of years ago Carroll Shelby was selling "new" Shelbys using old-stock parts. You could buy a "new" 66 (or something, If forget the year) Shelby. Of course he got busted soon after that LOL. Porsche did that too with the 959 IIRC. I'd love to see a new-old stock E30.
Nissan did full-resto 240Zs for a while using new-old stock parts, but using used cars as a basis.Leave a comment:

Ford Rs200. One of the best cars ford ever produced. And this time around it should be sold in the U.S.

I agree with all of those, I don't really care about the NSX it is almost a period only car for the 90's and I wouldn't mind if it stayed that way.
8-series self explanitorily awesome, do it again
I too thought the big engined Phaeton was a sick concept that wasn't quite executed properly. I thought it must have been replaced with the CC. Something about that name, and a VW VIP sedan build just touches me, lol.
Supra has been due for a while
I think the time is right for the japs to reintroduce their sport kings. Toyota pussed out over the design Troy had for it to come in 2011, after the huge economy crash and needing to ask Japan for a loan. Doesn't mean it's off the table completely though.Hmmm... Most of the cars named in the first post were marketing failures. I wonder if they need to be reintroduced. But, what if a modern e30 was offered? It was a medium size car in its days, now it would be considered a compact. Don't add weight or electronics. Just replace the old M20 by an M50 or N54. Make the car a bit wider (e30 M3 style), and you'd have a winner.

This is how I felt about what Lee was saying, the 1er to me is BMW acknowledging the 3-series is larger now, and wanting to still make the sporty e30-esque coupes. But if they were to make an openly reintroduced E30 series I think it would sell uncontrollably, and I'd be a fanboi.

^Scirocco, should absolutely come to America.
Yes, this would have made the Corrado so elite.

My Additions are the SVT Lightning and Thunder, the new platforms I think would really benefit from the sport tuning, combine that with the new fiesta marketing, could generate a lot of sales.

While we're on ford, make this happen...fast:

Back to Euro, bring back the caddy

Um, An actually compact 2 door civic hatch, the last generation was fail IMO but there needs to be more 2 door hatches on the market in america

I've always wanted a reincarnation of the Chevy Nova

my favorite muscle car maybe even one of these?

I'll add more if I remember some

I guess no one will really know the truth, but I'm sure it's out there. They are allowed to sell the defenders in the Nanny states of the UK, AUS, and all over the rest of Europe and nanny state world. That is arguably more Ecco wacky than our EPA and high visibility jacket, no one must get hurt and land on fluffy puppies and rainbows, protect you from your self, runaway OSHA regs. So what gives here in the states, Lobbyist form Chrysler corp lobby to keep the D90 out to protect the Wrangler????? WTF happened to NAFTA and shit in the mid/late 90's when rover was trying to sell the D90 here??????

OK 3300lbs and 210hp, that's pathetic, that's the same weight and over 50hp less than my Speed 3.It's just about 3380lb for the V6, which is rated at 308hp. The turbo is like 3297lbs but only rated at 210hp.
BUT.... Something to think about... The original V6 coupe was designed to compete with the Mustang... Now that the Mustang has a 5.0, it blows the V6 coupe out of the water... Rumor has it around town here that Hyundai is bringing their own 5.0 to the table. And they already have a 4.6L V8 making 375hp so "If"/when this V8 Genesis rears it's head I would fully expect it to be 400+ hp.
I remember hearing the V8 Genesis rumors too, but will they be able to get the price where they need it to be?
You can get a 5.0 Stang for $30k, even the base V6 Genesis is what $27-28k with the V6? No one is going to buy a $35k 2dr Genesis.
The 135i is pretty comparable on weight to the Genesis IIRC.Personally I really like the Genesis Coupe R-spec. Yes they're heavy, but much lighter than a 1-series and with a turbo 4-banger that you can easily and cheaply make big power with. Combine what with a stick and rwd... it's a great combo.
Think about it. What do all the great sports cars have in common? RWD and a stick, and many with a turbo motor. Aside from the 135i (which is a pig) the Genesis is the only car on the market today that fits the bill. And it looks pretty fucking good for a Hyundai IMO.
Typo and you know it whore!Leave a comment:

+1000000 to the Alfa GTV^ (Cream, you beat me to it). Not only the inboard brakes but the rear transaxle setup. Just work out some of the electrical gremlins, stiffen the suspension a bit and it'd be a modern-day winner.Leave a comment:
