I have taken 4 and a half years of German, so I know the language pretty well.

Since you are just starting it, I would definatly be able to help you, if needed.

Grew up speaking it but it's a bit rusty from disuse... If I want to talk to any of my relatives I have to speak it since my parents and myself are the only part of the entire extended family to not live in Germany.

On a side note: is German hard to learn? I have absolutely no will in learning Spanish and I have an F in it right now. I soo don’t want to take Spanish 2 over again and then Spanish 3 my senor year. How bad would German be in college?

German isnt hard. The grammar is different than ours but the rules are very rigid so once you get them down there arent very many exceptions, not as many as american english. The prederate form and imperfect form are just as fucked up as English though.

All european languages uses a similar sintax and all still have irregular verbs and nouns so you cant escape it. Although youd be better off learning Spanish living in the US. Im learning German because I had a couple of job opportunities opened to me in Europe and its likely that I would be spending at least my first few years over there.

I'm currently learning German, it's not hard, I've taken spanish and hated it but I like German, it's an interesting language. French being my mother tongue, no language I learn is gonna be more complex gramatical wise (maybe except Chinesse...)

I hate Spanish with a passion. I had Paul Spadafora (trainer of the famous boxer) my first year and he couldn’t teach. Ever since then I have been lost. I would of been fine with another teacher. I had better grades in Japanese but I switched since I knew it would get way to hard later on. I Think I could sue the school for not firing him 30yrs ago when my mom had him. It’s like obstruction of Education or something.:?

The fact is I would WANT to learn German, but is it worth doing it in college? And the fact I won’t have 3yrs of a language on my manuscript wont look so good with the colleges.

Take some more English. It seems like you could use it.

                              It's vocabulary and grammar.
