Ive driven a few of the new sportwagons. They are great. The interior finish is incredible, and for that price really not much can beat them

also you can make hybrids jealous, with the incredible MPG

i think the best my friend got with his was 53 MPG in his 6 speeder. this was while doing 75mph.

VW gotten a lot better quality wise over the last few years. I think the jetta in wgaon form is way better lookin than in sedan, another friend just traded in his 07 tahoe for a DSG equipped one for wifey and the kids, loves it.

I would get it unless you are really serious about trying to work on it yourself, you will need about 1000 special tools that VW makes otherwise jobs take 5 times as long.

            this...

            and this

Read 2006 Volkswagen Jetta reviews from real owners. Find out what they're like to drive, and what problems they have.

2 great reasons to stay away from VW for at least 5-7 years till VW picks up the slack of the terrible reputation they have from previous generations.

I'm thinking about getting a 1.6 or 2.0 Caddy with liq. gas conversion. Should be more economical than tdi, depending on fuel prices.

I've owned a TDI and worked on all the family's TDIs. (6 cars in total, with over a million miles between them) You will LOVE the engine, chassis, and economy. Fabulous materials on the interior, too. Drive one. Then drive the Civic that was pushed earlier. Then drive the TDI home.

Just remember that these are modern cars and DIY maintenance is getting harder and harder to do. That is the only thing that I don't like about them.

No TDI experience, but I picked up an 06 GTI 2 weeks ago to drive while my E30 is getting rebuilt.. DSG is amazing. Interior is top quality. Coming from years of BMW's, I'm really impressed by what newer VW's have to offer.
