You realize it's the same show, right? Same producers, some of the same writers...it's a franchise. This is like saying the McDonald's on 47th ripped off the McDonald's on 23rd.

I LOVED the Raptor segment. Holy shitballs that looked like fun!

Here is my problem with American TG. The best episode this show could ever hope for is a shootout between them and the British TG crew. The only reason that would be good is because it would include the British TG crew trash talking American TG. I'm hoping the show flops and they do that for a send off.

I just can't stand that they took a great show an decided they needed to dumb it down to the lowest common denominator. You won't see any battle of agincourt references on Top Gear America. That much I can assure you.

Apparently all the haters never watched the early top gear episodes? I'm sorry to burst your bubble, but it SUCKED DICK.
Give it time. They'll eventually come up with ideas that haven't been used already, hopefully dump the fat guy, and get more comfortable so they can use something other than one-liners.

But while Top Gear US tries to find itself out of the mess that it started out as, go back to Top Gear UK for their newest episode. Sure is a sigh of relief to be able to enjoy the Top Gear we all know and love :D

This show is just horrible, they (try to) mimic everything the UK show did including the personalities. They should have brought their own style to it.

eh, its not that bad. they copy a lot of skits which is annoying, but its still fun to watch.

the fat guy is the only one of the 3 that seems to be being himself. ferrara seems like hes reading the whole time, foust is OK but a little uncomfortable., fat guy is watchable.

The episodes are definitley getting better, the race against the halo was pretty intense

Ask anyone who's been to Germany or France, they can tell you that McDonald's is way better than in the US.
Personally, I could not eat at McD in the states, Colorado to be exact.

TGUS seems like a Jackass/TGUK combo to me. That wouldn't really matter much, maybe that's what the american viewer wants to see, but the show is short and not informative in any way. In TGUK, episodes that include doing stupid (funny) things also include informative flicks on cars I'll never buy. There's a lot more to see than just crashing cars and a two minute interview.

This will be a neverending debate, but to those telling other's to look at the first seasons of TGUK - you're wrong. TGUS is picking up at a point where TGUK is very popular and that's a major help (and hurdle in some ways). Also TGUK back in the first couple series probably wasn't really aspiring to be what it is today, it was later built around the presenters and great camera work making boring things look awesome. People like controversy, their hate of some cars, their dumb ideas. It got viewers talking and spreading the word.

To me TGUS is like an online parody, something CollegeHumor would do.

I like the original top gear. I think the people are what make the show, and the americans just don't fit the role.

I just watched the latest TGUK, coincidently a trip from Virginia to New York, a total 68 minutes of crazyness in three of the worlds greatest cars, from Nascar country all the way to to the Big Apple.
TGUS should've started out with a massive episode like this.

How is Virginia nascar country? That makes no sense.

Didn't say that, but you should know that NA is along the way up.

                              Went from here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blue_Ridge_Parkway
                              to here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/North_Wilkesboro_Speedway
                              to here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Virgini...tional_Raceway
the up to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Intercourse,_Pennsylvania to look at the sign
                              and finally the big city.

Compared to the three TGUS guys spitting alcohol at a fire, this is a different dimension.
Can't wait to see the Iraq episode.

Btw: TGUS is listed as being 60mins but when you cut commercials, its 43.

I like the show, but I hate the actors. If they took Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May and put them in America, it would have been much more entertaining.
