I love hearing about folks unaware of our military presence in Korea. Sigh...
Spending time stationed there, I can say this kind of shit happens ALL the time. Is it more important now after recent events, eh.... The two Korea's can't play nice, and eventually there will be a conflict, its that simple.alexw

I'm not really that 'political' but I wanna call bullshit on our last 5+ years of WMD / iraq crapola.
Here's a rogue nation that has said straight up, "we have nukes and will use them" and fires on our allies etc... and they get... six party talks and 6 months of free diesel fuel.
We need to cut a deal with their military, remove the ruling wacko family, and get them straight.
Or, have the chinese build a giant walmart across the border and we'll help out with a lightly irradiated giant parking lot. Fuck the UN.
I agree with all this. I think that some people don't realize that this is the start of another world war and its being treated like its no thing . One country is gonna get mad at what other country is defending who and that's the end of everything . All out WW3sigpic(OO=[][]=OO)Comment

Of all the stuff going on in the world today, I'd agree that this one has probably the greatest potential of igniting WWIII...at least if China chooses to get involved again.e92 M3

how ever china and russia don't get along that well, especially sins china has been building the j-11, a direct rip off of the su-27.sigpic

North Korea, in fact, announced on May 27 that it was withdrawing from the armistice. It declared it could no longer guarantee the safety of ships sailing through the Yellow Sea off its western coast, and would no longer respect the legal status of several islands off South Korea's coast. It also vowed to attack South Korea if North Korean vessels suspected of smuggling nuclear and missile components are stopped and searched by a U.S.-led U.N. naval armada — a proposal currently under discussion.

I was stationed at Suwon and Osan in the mid 80's prior to the Olympics. We had some stressful periods as we were always playing Chem Warfare. I liked the time I spent there.
This could escalate into a full blown skirmish. Not what we need at this point in time.Comment
