how is the sound quality? do the sounds of the cars engine sound like the real life example? Can you hear turbo spooling on sti's... etc

The sounds are much impoved over GT4 and slightly improved over GT5 Prologue. The turbo sounds wont impress anyone, nothing different from GT4 there, but the V8 sounds are most improved. There is also a more realistic change in sound when changing mufflers on the cars, 4cyls get a little more boomy and annoying. There is still quite a bit of work for them to do on getting the sounds spot-on though. I am a bit of an engine sound nazi myself but im content with what GT5 has to offer.

There is a whole section of the game dedicated to drifting only, I haven't even touched it yet so I don't know how good it is.

Drifitng is fun. Get shitty tires and turn the tcs down. You get points on how sideways you get and how long you hold it, and it shows points per lap and best points so far, etc.

Sound on forza 3 > gt5 sorry to say. When you get full racing exhaust they try to make it sound raspy but it sounds like blown speakers.

Forza 3's sound sucked ass though. The exhaust mods did nothing to the sound of your car. All cars sounded the same no matter what modifications you did to them. They pretty much made them sound beefy stock. I dunno about you but a stock honda doesn't sound like it has a fart can on it from the factory.

Forza 2 was still the best imo. Granted I loved how many LMP and GT cars were in F3.

They don't sound as outgoing as they could be, but I do like the change in tone and behavior. Racing exhaust on my EK makes it sound like a Subaru at idle. Torque band changes as it should to boot.
