IM ON A PLANE! headed to LA for the weekend, suggestions

anyone out in socal have some cool spots for me to hit. im visiting a friend, she wants to be a director, so she and her bf moved to LA. she is currently the assistant to the director on the new smurfs movie. got that straight out of college, so kudos to her. she left all her friends behind and misses them though. so i bought a ticket and two weeks later, here i am sitting on a plane. i have a 5 hour flight, so i guess i'll be on r3v a lot. haha.

i land at noon local time, going to get lunch with her and her bf then get a tour of the sony studios. after that.. its all up in the air.

i would like to hit up a good club/bar on saturday night. and a good restaurant tonight. and a good restaurant for lunch both days.

money isnt a huge issue, but i dont want to blow more than $600 this weekend.

so restaurant/bar/club/cool places please.

if i pick up the tab, what can i expect for 3 people with tip? $100, $150, $200?

It was about $50/person with tip+tax when I went. We just asked the waiter for recommendations and split a few things between us (salad, veggie side, two pasta plates. We passed up the expensive meat/fish mains and opted for a few pasta dishes to share (per waiter recommendation)... I never knew pasta could be so delicious. Both of us were expecting it to be good, but were still blown away. I'll eat there every time I'm in LA.

Word, no prob. I point every LA visitor there. I'd check their hours... may be dinner only. Also ask about a reservation. We waited 45min at 9:30pm on a Tuesday.

As far as bars, there's one in Venice called The Otheroom that was cool. Beer/wine only (good beers and I have a Portland beer palate haha), and a 25-35 crowd.

possibly, we are 22, 24, and 28. we'll definitely check it out though.

im not a big beer drinker tbh, tend to drink the easier beers. yuengling lager, corona, dos equis, stella, etc.
