some things that I've always loved:

      long-EZ

And what I think is one of the most mazing looking jets for it's time - the F-86. If Steve McQueen flew a jet, this is what he's fly.

george, I agree, that Corsair for sure! And the glider too, I never had the chance to fly one with that wing span... A little longer than the good ol' 1-26!

I would love to own a Yak-1 aircraft from the soviets in ww2. It had its main 20mm cannon going through the crankshaft of the engine! And its v12 power plant was oriented upside down so that the pilot had much more visibility over the engine.

^ I love the whirring sound those things make. Totally original to the aircraft.

S-3 made a similar noise, as they used the same engines. Hence the nickname "Hoov" or "Hoover" :) Not nearly as bad ass though

I've always been a fan of the Duo Discus (airborne in picture below.)

In the meantime, I'll have to see if I can bum a ride on the Lear 31A that our local family friend recently acquired. :D

f14 tomcat had 40 hours maintenance per 1 hour of flight. Sounds about right for a Bimmer owner.
