    How much should I charge

    I painted a hood and a bumper cover for a friend of mine. I used his paint and I used my clear, sand paper, etc. He wants to pay me and I dont know what to charge. What do you guys think? It took me around 3-4 hours and it turned out nicely.

    He's a friend? Tell him to buy you a case of beer.

          Id probably ask for him to pay my material costs and then pay for my labor in drugs or beer. Its the "right" thing to do :)

            time is worth about 15 dollars an hour, plus the clear used with harder and thinner was prob. worth about 20.00 dollars. depends how good of a friend i guess though.

            60.00 dollars would be cheap compare to a shop.

                      50 and a 12 pack of beer. Then turn around an share said beer with the guy. This pays you modestly for your work so you become his tool. The beer says that even though we have a working relationship we still can have fun together.

                        Does your friend have a younger sister? ;-)

                        Have him pay for material. Have her work for work.

                            "this is MY friend bob" or "this is A friend of mine, bob"

                            1st = pizza and beer
                            2nd = $50 and beer

                              For my mechanical work, I charge $15/hr base, plus materials/parts. Friends buy the beer and get free work if they're helping me out. If they sit on their asses, $10/hr.
