    Direct TV customers

Have any of you ever had your local affiliate (in my case NBC/FOX) ever in a dispute with DTV and they not come to an agreement? I may loose NBC/FOX Jan. 1 if they don't hash it out. And that would be the suck. I suppose OTA antenna then.

And if you have lost them, did you ever get it back? How long did you loose them for?

    Fuck DTV

When I moved they fucked me with local channels.

To make a long story short, they hit my card for 1050, billing disputes said fuck you we have your money, CC said fuck you they have your money after they didnt fulfill their end of the contract and I still had to pay them a grand for less than 45 days of service

ouch. I don't have a choice other than OTA where I am at unfortunately. And my father had a bad experience with Dish Network so I have always stayed away from them myself.

Boy do I got a story to tell.

When we moved from Florida back to California we called DTV to tell them to cancel our service because we were moving. Smooth and easy, so we thought...

Our house still hasn't sold over there and had people leasing it out. They got their own subscription to DTV and everything was fine. Months later we get a call from DTV on my cell phone saying we owe them over $700!! I checked my credit card and turns out they've been billing me for 4 months, over $500! They had creditors calling us but we told them to fuck off we have perfect credit and DTV owes us money. We wrote a letter to the Attorney General in CA and in FL, and then a letter to the BBB. According to the BBB, DTV has the most complaints filed in CA!

Weeks later we get a letter from DTV saying we no longer owe them $700. Great, but now they owe us 500 bucks. This has been going on for almost 2 years.

What really bothers me is they have me cornered. I really don't want to use their service anymore but I need the Sunday Ticket, I really do. Even when I get my money back I'd still be on the fence to get a subscription again. The whole thing has been a huge headache and I never want to deal with it again.

Wow that's some fucked up stuff.
I had a great experience with DTV and a horrible experience with both Dish Crapwork and Comcast (they suck balls).
The programing was quite a bit better and so was the ease of use.

Dish and DirecTV don't offer local channels here, you can't get any of the local networks. Which is good for me, I've actually been at 3 customer's homes now installing phone/internet, and managed to get them to add TV after telling them that .

I've had DirecTV for nearly 10 years and moved twice, never had an issue with them. One of their reps actually noticed that I had been paying a $5.99/mo lease fee for 6 months and shouldn't have been. They credited me all the charges and gave me two free PPV movies for the trouble.

The only time I had an issue is the last time I moved. I had a friend who did DTV install and he brought his "Bird Dog" over to make sure I had clear sight to upgrade to HD. I did. When the installers came out they said I didn't, and a tree was in the way and had to be removed. I asked how soon they could come back and they said to just call and reschedule once I got the tree trimmed. I asked if they would skip to the next install and come back when they were done, and cut the fucker down myself. The guys thought it was a riot and got a real kick out of it. They came back in less than two hours and the tree was down and half chopped up.

ive had problems with direct tv to

We upgraded to hd and everything was going fine until we wanted to add a line to the bed room so we did and the next day the bed room service stopped working so we called and they did some kind of reset, well this happened 3 more time and they wouldn't sent a tech to the house to look at it but the 4th time they did and it took him 10 minutes to figure out the other guy hooked the dish up wrong but this all happen in just over a month and the warrenty was good for one month month but we had this problem since the 2nd day and its there fault they took so long to fix it, but anyway everything was working until we got a bill in the mail for like 400 hundred dollars when the guy who fixed it said there would be no charge because they hooked it up wrong. so we didn't pay it and then we cancel which voided the 2-year contract with was more money we didn't pay because it was there fault. A year later we started building a house and realized our credit was horrible and found out they hit 2 of my credit rating over and over every month we didn't pay!!! But now everything is all fixed but they have really bad customer service but i have to say there picture and tv qualitly is better then cable by far
Play by there rules and your shouldn't have a problem

I hate DTV with a passion, even had to go through the BBB over a charge dispute before they would remove it off my bill. My biggest beef with them is they throw you in a contract without ever telling you. Even simple service changes can cause you to renew your contract without them saying a single thing about it. The day my contract is up I will be canceling and will never use them again.
