      Anyway...

yes we carry loaded rifles and pistols on our helicopters in combat zones. Usually loaded magazine, not chambered, on safe, muzzles pointed down (all the important helicopter bits are up).
In the states we generally don't carry any weapons on the aircraft at all, unless it is for a training exercize, in which cas see above.
Now, we do in fact do some 'work' with law enforcement agencies, especially those that deal with 'crops'. In those instances, we (the crew) don't carry any weapons, but the LE officers do pack heat, and usually alot. Again, refer to the above statement on weapon status.

Oh, and for what its worth...

The worlds first sucessful helicopter was French
The worlds first practical helicopter was German (Various Focke-Angelis designs used for spotting and downed air-crew recovery on the eastern front in WWII)
The worlds first mass-produeced helicopter was American (the Sikorsky R4)

FWIW, don't trust any Air Force member who's talking about anything having to do with weapons. 90% of the Air Force shoots their M16 in basic, and is lucky if they see it again once a year for a requalification.

        - This is coming from a recently separated Air Force Security Policeman.

He thought he said what I posted before and also later posted by Hooker. He just messed up on how he worded it. And he is in Spec Ops, so I am sure he will be doing more than a fair share of killing. He is a CCT.

He got his blood wings and red beret. Now he is going back for another year to do scuba and gets his arms issued soon too. I really envy what he is doing, seems like a blast!

Yeah so this whole thing was just a mix up with how he worded it.

Dude you're fucked up. If your "buddy" is spec. Ops/red beret why wouldn't you just listen to him? This is just another sad cry for attention.

I thought that was common sense and just obvious. It did make me lol though
