True. If you want "out of the box fun", STi should be more than sufficient, maybe an Evo, not sure the prices in the U.S but if it fits in the budget an STi can be the best option. If you want rwd, e36 M3/e46 m3.

What are your boundaries? Do you want to stay German made or doesn't really matter?? I have never driven an s2000 but I have heard it is extreme fun...

shit i could be sitting here posting 7 second videos of a geo metro, would that justify him buying one though and putting tons of money building some monster turbo motor? nope.

Just buy a cheap ferrari dude, panties will drop automatically. Why bother with m5s to impress college chicks?

E39 M5 has everything you'll ever need in a daily driver (excluding sufficient cup holders - but you're used to that anyways lol.) Heated seats, an amazing sounding German V8, and enough room to carry yourself and 4 passengers on the way to the drag strip/track with all that power. IMO it's the perfect car to buy (given your price range) and keep absolutely stock with the exception of some subtle preference mods ie: SSK, Muffler Delete, Black Kidneys..

Call me biased.. But I just spent the past 2 weeks of my Florida vacation driving my cousins 03' Lemans Blue M5 with the mods listed above ^

    Doooo itttttttt.

Someone mentioned the E46 ZHP. I suppose it won't be as fast as your S50'd E30, but they are plenty fast, look good, cheap, reliable (more so than the M). It's the M3's little brother. My dad has an 05 sedan and its quite a car.

    What about the Infiniti G35?

I think if you put that much money into an e30 your likely to get much of it back if/when you sell. An e46 is still depreciating and will probably nickel and dime the hell outta your wallet

Just get something with boost. Mods will be fairly cheap to get it going and evo/sti have such a large aftermarket.

Sure it's rice, but if all you wanna do is go fast, there is no better way to do it.

(Sold DD E30, bought GT Legacy, besides the constant issues with an old Subaru, I'm loving it)
