That's because e36s are too old and people work on the cars at home. The current e9x series come in for basic maint/severe work. I too, work at BMW Dealership and the most common cars are e39s, e46s, x3s, and x5s (e53s, not e70s). Notice how they were ALL built in the same era?

We see all of the aforementioned too, just e46's outweigh all the others, I'm sure you already know, they come in for stupid shit that BMW should have fixed over the lifespan of that body.

But, on a more serious note don't forgot to call your insurance company an get a quote on an evo/sti/e46m3/vette before buying one :)

Few years back i test drove vw r32, 04 sti and mitsu and ended up getting r32. It was a perfect combination of DD and still very capable in autox/hpde events and it's exhaust was pure sexiness! This isn't a typical vw, it's limited edition and comes loaded etc... 6spd,240hp,13"brakes, heated seats etc. All i did to it was good fluid+pads and had loads of fun w/o a single problem. Insurance was also the cheapest vs evo/sti. I didn't get the sti/evo because of the extra attention they were getting back in 03/04.

If you pick the evo or sti, make sure you get one that was maintained well and not the early year models...
