Had to put my dog down.

Last night when i got home everything was cool she was running around like she does normaly.Waiting for me to finish dinner so she can lay next to me on the couch. So my wife wanted to watch her recorded shows and i deceided to go play PS3. My dog went with me like she always does when i go to bed. So i put her up on the bed, about a hour later my wife walks in to go to bed. All of a sudden my dog starts breathing fast and shaking she couldnt open her eyes or walk. So we took her to the 24hr emergency vet in murrieta. They told me it was heart failure and she was going to a have a cardiac arrest and really suffer. So at about 1o'clock last night i had to her laid down. She was a 15 year old red dashund named winnie pooh. She was just as sweet as could be. I stayed with her all the way through it and alot more making sure she knew how much i and everybody else loved her. She will be dearly missed R.I.P WINNIE. 1996 TO 2011.

I had a similar situation with my english springer spaniel. My co-pilot one hour and sick with internal bleeding another. Truely, the worst day of my life. 13 years and then all gone. I feel for ya! It took about a year before I could look at pix of him without getting water-eyed.

Dread that day, it usually comes before you're ready. RIP Winnie.

Sorry for your loss, I had to do the same to my 10yr yellow lab, Cosmo, a few years ago. He was diabetic and getting shots twice/day for about 3yrs prior.

I don't think you can ever be ready..

My cat John who is 18 years old just came back from the vet a few weeks ago due to the beginning stages of kidney failure. I've had him since I was 11. I don't think I'll ever be ready for his death even though I know its eminent.

                        My condolences..

I can't come up with words, but like someone said, I'm sure she had a great and love filled life. If only more people could care as much as you guys do and did.
