I'm new to the e30 scene (finally, been years of dreaming/searching), graduating mechanical engineering from Villanova in a few months. Got involved in Formula SAE (google it if you're curious, it's extremely interesting and there's some really amazing stuff developed) and currently welding the frame of our 3rd car produced. I designed it in SolidWorks, we have strict rules but there's still a large degree of freedom. I also designed the suspension using SW, and the entire car is modeled, down to the nuts and bolts and bearings. One of my teammates has a black '91 318is he picked up from a local r3v member, he's been working on the wheel/upright/brake package in SW. All I have on this laptop is an image of the frame, perhaps I'll throw up details another day. FSAE takes up all my time though, especially at this point in the season.
