why is it that nobody can spell the word "douche"?
haha I have thought this very thing many many times.

I almost always do, in this situation it could have been worse though if he was thrown into another lane.

            Fixed.

Motorcycles scare the shit out of me. Ok, not really, but cell phoning, texting, eating , parenting, make-up-ing, multitasking drivers scare the shit out of me. Pay attention, you're driving a couple thousand pounds worth of human-crusher.

being on a bike can be scary as hell. My ex got hit by a lady who didn't stop before pulling out of an alley. She didn't have insurance, he didn't have uninsured motorist insurance and the cops did nothing but pretty much say that sucks for you. I try to wear my jacket when I ride but always wear my helmet because you can be the safest driver in the world but one idiot comes along and its over.

Dam, got it all on tape...

I try to do my part in letting bikes pass on busy highways i.e. moving over in my lane when I see them coming. I am very alert of them.

However, it would help if some riders used more common sense! Ive seen a kid get hit by a biker too:

Late one afternoon when the sun was directly in people's eyes, there was a zebra crossing going from an apartment complex to a small shopping center and cars had stopped to let a group of like 6 people cross. Well this mother didn't want to cross for some reason and when the 6 had just about finished crossing, her 2-4 year old girl went running across the street. Everyone stayed stopped to let her go but this biker went weaving through traffic and struck her with his front wheel. Obviously people were furious. As much as we watch out for bikers, caution goes both ways.

This video however was CLEARLY that stupid lady's fault. I can only imagine how the sti- I mean the rider, felt after that hit

I always ride fully geared, ATGATT, all the gear all the time. That includes a full face snell rated helmet, riding jacket (usually a leather Dainese), leather riding pants (sometimes textile), full length riding boots, and a back protector. On the few occasions I wear jeans, I wear Icon knee and shin guards.

Yeah it gets hot in the Sacramento summer, but I'd rather sweat than bleed.

Doesn't seem like there was much this guy could do to avoid this. People like to say oh yeah he could have done this and this and swerved like this, etc. Right. He did a good job staying aware and stopping in time. That dumb ass bizznatch was going to hit him no matter what. Glad he came out standing.
