That's cool and its pretty much how I started my Vietnam Collection. After my uncle, who was with the 173rd ABN, passed away, I got his duffle-bag full of everything he had from his tour in Vietnam. Up to that point I was really only interested in WWII, but that pretty much forced me to branch out. Now I have a sizable Vietnam War collection going.
PS: If you ever need a good home for your Grandfather's stuff, let me know.
The 173rd is probably my favorite military unit for some reason. They really had a hard time in Vietnam, must have been a hell of a soldier.
I have a few things like a Chernobyl clean-up medal, a KGB flask, some Russian papers from a soldier I believe, a NATO gasmask from the 80's, Kar98k, and then a few pictures of my grandpa from a Japanese POW camp.

I'll keep that in mind!
I think I'm going to keep the uniform, and frame it, and I'll keep his guns, but if we find other stuff, I'll be sure to let you know!

^ Nice. Just before I moved up to the PNW, I was given 1200 rounds of German 7.92mm ammo with headstamps from 1937, 39, and 40. Some still in thier cardbord boxes and some on MG34 belts.
Sounds lame, but cool looking motors, and auto parts..
