george, that is awesome! Please post up progress pics when it happens!

I've always wanted to see what one of the GTMs could do with a well built turbo 4 of some sort. Hard to argue against the torque, but same power potential and less weight if done right.

^I don't think you'll find a convincing turbo-4 that will go up against the aluminum block LS1. They can make 500hp reliably without even being stressed. And you probably aren't going to save much weight if any, due to the turbo/plumbing/intercooler/etc.

There is a reason people are putting LS1s in everything.

Will do - I've got to save up the $20k first. So buy a temp sensor. ;)

I painted Dave's house back in 00-01 when he first had moved his shop to the cape from California. Had no idea who he was at first. After the job(s) we met at the shop while the GTM was in the infant stages, and the whole facility is amazing- like clockwork. Back then, and even now, still the most succesful kit car co in the world- even after the CS attempt to crucify him.
The engineering in the roadster structure is far superior to the original, its obvious by comparing the two. He told me the story about the begining, when him and his brother started. In med school, the cpu program he was given that's used for spinal/bone 'repair' was what he used to design the frame of the first original roadster. Inspiring to say the least.

Alyk - how does 23k less sound?
          exactly

I do not want to have to put it together,
          um, hello.

Sounds like a pretty cool contest. If they can get close to the target weight, it'll be awesome!

I hope the guy in that black Speedster fixes his seriously ill-fitting body panels, or were my eyes mistaken?
