That's fucked up. I can't believe the cop, after failing twice to get any prosecutions, kept going and is still pursuing this guy and ruining his life. Talk about a power-trip.

How does this still happen in this day and age? Why does it seem like so many police forces are evil? Since when was the law a series of technicalities that can get you pulled and searched at any time? I swear, every time I read a story like this, I can't help but think how fucked we are if we don't start protesting for reform. It sucks that some random dude's life is basically ruined because of some horse shit like this

Then we have the "good" side of things. Everything has it's opposites. The bad guys make it hard for the good guys to maintain their reputation. Because the bad paint the bad picture for everyone involved. Now you got all this pressure to maintain this and added pressure from guys who hate cops giving the good guy a hard time, repeatedly. Think of how hard it would be to stay straight and good in all that shit going on?

you have to think outside the box and the bigger picture.

not saying cops aren't bad, but not all cops are....I've been nasty to some and really nice to some and even nice to some and they were nasty with me. it didn't get me further to retaliate. It would have escalated and then he would have used the law to his advantage. Yes, abuse of power indeed; but I'm not here to become a martyr!! You get further using your brains then you do emotion.
Not sure what you're trying to say here, but read the article being discussed. The conversation is about that particular officers actions, not every police officer ever.

Parente tried to pull Hitchcock over, he wrote, because the motorist cut him off after the light turned green. Parente claims that Hitchcock, in the curbside lane one over from Parente, "accelerated greatly" on the green light, and cut him off in the middle or No. 2 lane.

this is just a bunch of bullshit, reminds me of the cop who pulled a gun on the biker with no proof he was an officer

except his is even more extreme and stupid

i cant wait to see this play out

"Parente, 6'1" and armed with his duty pistol, claimed to be so afraid of Hitchcock — a gray-haired, fairly out-of-shape man in a Hawaiian shirt — that Parente feared Hitchcock would snatch the shotgun from his fallen motorcycle."

are you fucking kidding me? If the bmw guy was a 6ft gang banger i could understand, but he looks ab out as dangerous as a 12 year old girl. I hope this cop goes down for this bullshit. He fucked up, lied, and has spent 7 months on paid leave. This pig just wants to keep the checks coming in and his days wide open.

    disgusting.

A cop rear ended a friend of mine a few years ago. Charged my friend w/failure to yield right of way. It was a straight stretch of road and my friend was stopped at a stoplight, waiting to go straight.

the person rear ending someone is almost always at fault,
regardless if its a cop or not.

Hermosa / Torrance Police are famously douches. A guy I know got set up by them as well (the cop placed his hand on the officer's gun, then laughed when he pulled it away. Repeatedly) This fault here is clearly on the motorcyclist.
