Definitely. I've eatin hot pepper since little and havent ever came across anything i couldnt handle.

The hottest thing I'v ever consumed was an at home juice blend consister of a bunch of green vegetables, lemon, ginger, and a whole habanero pepper. Used a juicer to make a mason jar size glass of juice. It took me 45 minutes to drink it.

I'ts called a Lemon Ginger Blast if anyone interested. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ha2m-...eature=channel And these guys actually used the original recipe of THREE HABANERO PEPPERS per single mason jar of end product. WTF!?

I grow hot peppers and make my own homemade BBQ and hot sauce. I used to never be able to stand the basic pepperoncini. I then found I love jalapenos, so over time I built a tolerance to it. I can now handle habaneros all day and have my own BBQ sauce that uses 24 of them in a 20oz bottle. Along with a shit ton of other peppers.

My sauces bring grown men to red faced tears gasping for breath. I just kept on eating them and before long it was like eating something normal.

In the summer I am going to be growing the fabled Bhut Jolokia pepper aka the ghost chili. I am going to make a face melting BBQ sauce that is out of this world. I know it is going to be HARD to get used to that one.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bhut_Jolokia_chili_pepper Habs are like 350,000 on the scale...

I would not add it to my food if it did not enhance the taste.

yes, you can get a light tolerance to the burn.

I've been actively trying to increase my tolerance to heat for a while now, there is a lot of flavor in hot peppers once you get past the burn.

Yeah - the worst is when it feels like you're pooping battery acid.

Can't wipe it - must use 'dabbing' motion with paper..

                    good times.

But, depending on how hot it is, that stuff does not love me back. Anywhere from 20mins to 12 hours latter IT WANTS OUT, and it WANTS OUT NOW.
                      this. dear god this.

The Blazin' Challenge is such bullshit. You still have to pay for the wings. The only thing you get is some bullshit paper hat and you become elligable to buy a t-shirt. Gay.

The most common misconception is that a high tolerance for spice means you have damaged your taste buds.

On the contrary, you have a heightened sense of taste and can detect flavors easier.

I am speaking from personal experience, and it's becoming a pet pieve when I hear people say, "But you have no taste buds, what's the point in eating it if it's too hot..."

I roll my eyes and educate them. ;)

Looking back on it, yes it was funny. At the time riding my motor scooter sitting side saddle like i had just taken it up the butt was not so funny.

At least all the hot waitresses were cheering me on, and one particularly sexy one gave me a free t-shirt.

There is one horrible downside to this capsaicin addiction.

Normal hot sauce, things that used to be spicy just don't taste like they used too.

I used to think that La Victoria Salsa Brava tasted hot, now it's like ketchup.

Well I finished it today for lunch.

Last nights is coming out now and the burn isn't too bad. And its not acid diarrhea, its normal poo.

Just thought I'd give you guys an update.
