My thoughts go out to the Airmen killed or injured at Frankfurt Airport today. It's strange to think how many of us have been through that airport, doing exactly what these guys were doing.

And this is why it is so damn asinine that the military insists on soldiers being in uniform when transiting to and from CENTCOM. They want to preach OpSec all day long, but here they really drop the ball.

I know what you mean. We didn't go through in uniform, or on a military bus for that matter. Although, I am stationed in Germany. Luckily I get confused for a European half the time anyway.

I've definitely ridden that bus.. who hasn't if you're stationed in Europe? Took the ride to Giessen in 2006.. loved being stationed in Germany. It's one of those "man, if I could do it all over again" type of experience.

Delfin, I was stationed in Baumholder (Friedberg first.. 2/37 Armor).. was in K-Town all the time though. Bought my touring in K-Town from the lemon lot, hahaha. That thing was awesome though.

OSI and the State Dept have briefed the heightened threat of this happening for the last 4 months. Every Intel brief I get before flying tells me that something will happen soon in Germany. Guess the Intel was correct or just a great guess. We travel in civilian clothes but our passports are dead give aways.
