Yea.. I'm still worried. My family lives 3 blocks from the water's edge. Their area is about 200 miles away from the epicenter but they are still in the tsunami watch area. This is fucking horrible.

      Status: HG repair. 488wtq though!

I'm bummed as a super good friend of mine living in Japan, just south of Tokyo, hasn't returned my texts or e-mails yet... :(

That's about where my family is. Most phone lines are down and power too. But most of the area south of tokyo are ok.

I thought the same, but it only takes 2 feet of water to move a car. also a tsunami can move hundreds of miles per hour, where a normal wave does not because its only wind.
Santa Monica has a tsunami wacth today too, and I'm going to venice...

                            Hawaii

                            N. Shore of Oahu checking in all is well. Although I did sleep in my truck up on a hill named Pupukea. My bed is only about 15ft. above sea level 20yds. from the water so I thought it best to find higher ground.

Not with my own eyes. I took to higher ground, though on my way home the water line at Wiamea Bay looked sort of high on the sand compared to usual. My room mate stayed at the house (yea he is that guy) and said it seemed minimal but it was also 3:30a.m. so it would have been difficult to see given the lack of illumination and coherence of the individual. I have heard that some of the boats in a bay four miles down the road in Haleiwa suffered some damage but can't confirm this information first hand.
