I enjoy cigars, and the anti-tobacco hyper sensationalized ads are joke to me.

I don't kill babies with my smoke
I don't smoke in the library
I don't ash/throw my cigars on the street
I don't want some health freak approaching me going out of their way to bitch how my cigar stinks and that I'm killing myself

I'm enjoying Cohiba Robusto right now.

It would be interesting to see how many people's minds are actually changed because of those ads. I'm willing to bet it's fewer than 0.01% of the people that see them.

Well something has to be done. I smoked heavily for 9 years. It's very hard to get across to people the damage that is being done. I really wish i'd never heard of cigarets. A cigar every now and then is no big deal, really. Cigars seemed like a good idea, but after quitting tobacco cold turkey, the taste just kills it for me. What gets me is a parent smoking close to their children without a care.

I don't understand why tobacco is the only "sin" product our society chooses to demonize to this degree. I don't see any surgeon general warning on my can of Budweiser...

I also sincerely wish that I had never started smoking. I want to quit because i've noticed many times over the last few years how detrimental it is to my physical performance and quality of life...hell, I'm studying exercise science right now and every single health class goes on and on about smoking is bad...I'm well aware of the damage being done, but it's too damn easy to go out and buy a pack.

it still astounds me that alcohol and tobacco are actually legal while weed isn't but that is a matter for another thread

The anti-smoking campaigns are over the top. When I go to a deli I don't want to see a rotting set of lungs when I order my lunch....

My favorite wraps are grape/strawberry/peach swishers. I have acually cut out smoking tobacco completely, no more wrappings or cigs..... Not gonna lie, each time some1 offers me a wrapping or a grit it is hard to refuse. I started smoking at my school because what I prefer to smoke is not legal for me to smoke on a college campus, but after my 3rd pack of grits I began to notice if i kept going, it would be a habbit I could not stop... so I stopped.
                      ;-)

You only have one life, and it is your own life, no one elses, so you should be able to put whatever you want into your body, because like your life, your body is yours, no one elses.

                      Just my 2 cents.

I worked at a pulmonary physicians office as a network admin for awhile.

I would see COPD patients all the time, lung cancer scans, all sorts of nasty shit. The doctor's would come in and tell me and my buddy how bad we need to quit and show us the scans and chunks cancerous tissue removed from a patient.

They were fucking nutso about the damage that it did.. Luckily I quit shortly after (not because of them) but I never really realized the damage it does until after I quit and realized how shitty I felt everyday BECAUSE of smoking.

I'm trying to quit because I know what it does and of how it makes me feel but it's really tough when I drink. I've got it to where I don't smoke unless I drink, I've always pretty much had it like that except for the occasional bored or social smoke. I just got back from Europe and DAMN do those people smoke! They spend more time outside as well so it's even worse for them.

I smoked these while I was there...

Haha the real damage happened when I quit smoking. I gained 20 lbs and became very irritated.
