I feel your pain, 3 years ago I went down to Cali on vacation with my fiance and got a call that my cat was in terrible shape at home. My parents kept him comfy and he died in his bed, still sad I never got to see him before he died. Cats are a ton of fun, I've got a Siamese now, I found him in a ditch when he was around 4 weeks old (wasn't even weaned yet) after someone had dumped him. He's got one heck of a personality and loves people. I'm sorry to hear about your little guy, just don't let him suffer and it'll be best.
My little buddy is on his last leg

Thanks you guys, it really means a lot to me. :(
I wish he wasn't as young as he is, being only 10-11 is way to young for my little bud to go. I thought he had at least another 5 years. But I guess that's the way it goes...
I am almost positive I will not get another little guy for quite a while. I just don't think I could replace him just like that. He was something else. :(

you're not replacing him
our previous siamese male, clyde (sis was bonnie), was the coolest cat i'd ever known, would sleep with my daughter, head on the pillow facing her with the covers up to his shoulders. he contracted of a liver disease and we had to have him out down.
never thought i'd get close to a cat like clyde again.
until simba, the (now) short tailed siamese that is completely different but such a great great cat“There is nothing government can give you that it hasn’t taken from you in the first place”

Indeed a bit young, but long enough for agood full life. Its impossible to replace them completely, that would imply erasing them. Erasing your memories, not happening. Remember the good and fun, there will be a time for another pet...just not now. Give Mr Henry a soft petting from me.Comment

I sure will J, that's a good way to look at it also guys. I just can't believe my little buddy is not gunna be here anymore. Heartbroken I am.

Sarcoma? How old is he?
We had a cancer scare with our Maine Coon (best cats ever, almost as loyal as my dog) - really put my girlfriend and I through the emotional wringer. Pets are odd, because you always seem to accept the fact they wont be around forever, but when the time actually comes it hits you like a train.

Also, never think of getting a new pet as replacing. You can never replace all the little quirks and oddities that make our little fuzzy friends our BEST friends. But, think of the all the joy and frustration of creating a bond with a new little pet that will not only help you in filling that void - but help to carry on the memory of your previous pet. They are intuitive to things like this, and I bet the last thing any of our pets want is for us to be sad and lonely when they pass.Originally posted by TeaguerFilling an Eta's tank with super unleaded will reach the cars maximum attainable performance level .

Jesus christ all mighty this is a sad thread... My ex gf's cat died of cancer too. On the morning of its death, we found him in the bathroom yeowling and in shock. Luckly she works a pet clinic so she called a doctor over and PTS him in our apartment. SO SAD.
That was the first cat to win over my heart.Comment

Kind of relevant, but I found a post on Reddit about why we're overjoyed to find our animals after a disaster, and I can see how it makes us feel so down when they're not long for this earth:
"Not to be philosophical or anything, but one of my favorite teachers in college maintained that the love between a person and their dog or cat is always so much more poignant because, while humans have an emotional and intellectual connection with each other, humans and pets can only know and love each other on an emotional level.
You can't rationally or intellectually express to your dog why you are happy to have found him after a disaster. It is a pure emotional expression."

Sorry about your kittah, I hate loosing animals.
I actually do think when you get a new one it's a replacement as my first dog was one of a kind. Her replacement was named Uno, I now own " Three ".Comment

I have never owed a cat always had dogs but i feel you pain bro. I just had to put my dashshund (winnie pooh) down due to heart failure this past january 25th 2011 she was 14. She acted exactly how you say your cat does and it killed me to put her down.I did not want to let her go. I know its hard to but if you have to put him down do it dont hesitate. He was always was there for you and made you happy and its your job not to let them suffer in pain when he brought you that happyness in your life. Stay there with him through it,its tough but just remember he has always been there for you.Your signature picture has been removed since it contained the Photobucket "upgrade your account" image.
