i personally dont have one, but my father did. so in a way this is personal because he tells me about it oh so frequently..

he had a gorgeous little fiat spider that was completely totalled by some old hag. it was a 4 lane road, two lanes in each direction. he was in the right lane, and she decided she needed to turn left onto an intersecting street. from the left lane. right into his drivers side.

she got away with it scott free because he was 18 and she was old and also seemed to know someone who knew the magistrate.


i curse that old woman every now and then. he said he still would have had that car today if not for her..

My father just hit 75 and I'm worried about him... he's never been all that good of a driver anyway (very easily distracted, short attention span, only likes to follow the rules he thinks 'apply' to him...) He's started to only use his turn signal if there is someone right behind him in the other lane who might want to know, otherwise it remains untouched. Same with all stop signs, he only slows down if he sees someone coming from the cross-street. Scares the piss out of me if I ever have to drive with him, it won't be too long until I have to have 'the talk' with him.

I'm 100% behind testing elderly drivers, they cause more accidents than any other age group besides learners (16-21). Test them at 60, 65, 70, and every 2-3 years after that.

i live in south west florida...like 80 percent old fucks who cant drive..luckily i have yet to make contact with any but damn near close a few times

Today I watched an older lady run a red light. She was like 5 feet away from T-boning someone going through their green.
I drove past her at the next light and she looked completely un-phased.



And last summer another older woman came INCHES from mashing up my 318's rear quarter panel. I was turning left onto the side road she was on, and she was going right onto the street i was on...I swear to god she lost her grip on the steering wheel, and hit the gas pedal.

Without some quick evasive maneuvering my car would've been a write off.


I really don't like living in the retirement capital of BC...

My friend, my Ex and I were just outside of of Penticton, (93' ish) in his Fox body 5.0 LX coupe on the highway near the tourist info booth. we were in all fairness hustling pretty good (150kph or so) and this straw hat wearing geriatric looks right at us, I remember his face, even it was so close, pulls his red dodge shadow right out in front of us,and stops, blocking our two lanes of highway.

Rodger managed to downshift, break, and turn, without rolling us, swerve through the concrete median break (for turning out where the old tool was and making a left) between lanes, cross two lanes of oncoming traffic, and straight at a Highway light, on a 3 foot high concrete base (we left a rubber mark from the drivers front tire on it...and down a 30 foot bank...

geri and his wife... proceeded with his left turn an drove the fuck away without so much as looking into the ditch to see if there were survivors.

fuck OK BC and the 90% retirement population.

also, yes, we were young and driving too fast...

To make a long story short. Was in my car going to drop off some bank deposits for a old job. Was doing the speed limit went threw a green light, from the side view of my eyes i saw a fender and hood coming at me. Bam! i was hit nearly head on by a 87 year old lady that ran a red light. She must have been going 30mph and i was going about 40mph. my car did a 720* spin and i took all impact on my chest from my nice metal sparco wheel ( fun )
my car was done after that , twisted the fram and would have been anywhere from 10,000 to 15,000 to be brought back to oem specs. Life sucked after that cuz that was my 1st car and babied it for nearly 2 years. Now i look out for old ppl and the retarded way they drive. oh yea lady hit in a rental car , the week b4 she was in another wreck. AAA gave me only 3k for a 89 240sx back in 06.

Hood was found 30ft away ripped in half. Hit so hard engine hit the firewall , trans popped up in side, frame twisted. it was once a s13.5 ( s15 front end )

On my way to school I came to big intersection. As I approach it I see this super old lady driving a Toyota Highlander and as I come to a stop I see here straight up looking at one of those old school pocket maps, spread across her whole dash! She was stopped at the sign to my right. After I stopped for like 10 seconds wondering whether or not I should go, she decides to look up from the map and in to my eyes and take off as I'm nearing the middle of the intersection. Braked for my fukin life and she went by like nothing happened :loco:

I once had a planes trains and automobiles "YOU'RE GOING THE WRONG WAY!" moment on the highway with some ancient looking man...could have been Blunt, but I'm not sure. He drove at 110Km/h on the opposite side of the hi-way for a good 5 minutes, swerving in between trucks and cars. He crested a hill at the same time as a semi and just about got squashed like a bug. I called the RCMP and I'm pretty sure they eventually got him. I hope anyways.

Had something like that happen once

When I still lived in MI, about 12 years ago (<-----Read before EVERYONE had cell phones), I was getting off the high way on my way to work after school. Well this old bat was going DOWN the off ramp I was going up. She was way off to the side so there was enough room to get by her. I was flashing the lights, blowing the horn waving like a mad man out the window trying to get her attention, While shouting wrong way. Well she must have gotten in because I say her mouth O.K. to me as I passed. Well she proceeds to the bottom of the ramp (this is 3pm rush remember) and puts on her turn signal, and then with out hesitation and waiting for a gap. She swings that big ass new at the time DeVille out into and across 2 lanes of traffic . There was mass fucking confusion on the high way, brakes locked up cars in the weeds and flying up the ramp to keep from hitting the old bat. Well she made it and got going the right direction, and no one else got fubard in the process, but that was just the pure luck of it.

Last time i went fishing with my grandpa he ran 2 red lights and didnt even know whats going on! Couple years ago i was parked chilling in my car when an old couple backed up into my car, parked their car and were gonna walk away like nothing happened!

I got rear-ended by an old guy (no not blunt) at a light. It was during a fire evacuation, the guy was 90 something and didn't have a license, let alone notice that he had hit my car.

Luckily the diving boards brushed it right off.
