This thing is absolutely amazing, I got it last week and Im still in awe of it. Having used the arrows, being in my friends car with a Escort 8500 (a very nice detector) is just not the same. It seems cheap with just beeping. The arrows are like watching a video unfold on the highway. You see cops coming onto onramps hitting people with radar, ect ect. It does pick up a ton of garbage signals though. Meh, it was worth the 400 dollars even though I probably wont pick enough tickets to cover that. I get a bout one a year @ $125 + insurance premiums if they find the tickets. I cant afford another one. this is the worst rant ever.

$400 is a small price to pay when you look at the big picture. Consider this: you get nailed by Smokey. Your ticket is ~$150. Lets say you don't have the luxury of going to traffic school so you're stuck with a point on your record for 3 years. The increased insurance premium will add up over time if you do a little math. If the V1 saves you from just one ticket, its already paid for itself.

my dad has a V1 and has had it for about a year now. comes up w/ alotta garbage, but you know when its real and it usually pick up the signal ~1.5 miles away. we've picked up radar form 2.5 miles before.

it gets annoying as hell when someone else w/ a radar detector is near you for a while, cuz it picks up signals from other detectors.

but it has saved my ass so many times.

The only protection against laser is a jammer, sure the v1 will tell you when one is pointing at you, but that does no good since the laser reads your speed almost instantaniously.
