i got the money for some guy ruining the fender on my mercedes,
all i did was tell them i wanted to fix it myself with the insurance money,
so make sure you give them the shop estimate and make sure that they write the check in YOUR name.
then its 100% legal and everything..
i got my e30 from the dent on my mercedes ;)
    haha.

However those kinds of impacts on e30's can cause driveline problems even crack or break trans mounts and trans mounting ears as well as engine mount damage.

Really depends on the speed of impact.

But that being said , probably best for you to pocket the $$ and pull put your valance by hand.
No need to worry about the shocks if the bumper is sitting right.
I'm not spending any more on the car. I want to buy a new cleaner e30 soon that isnt salvaged.

The speed of impact was around 15-20 mph more or less. It was'nt bad at all just a little jerk

If the car isn't perfect don't even bother fixing it with a shop, you can easily source things yourself and fix it for less than $200, pocket the rest for hookers and blow.

Just curious about the outcome; so, what’s the update? What did the auto insurance company have to say?

I always got a few estimates then took the most expensive one and submitted it. I was always cut a check, then I would either fix it myself or take it to a cheaper place and pocket the change.

Or just not fix anything and pocket the whole check. I got $800 for a tiny scratch when a mailman backed into my 07 jetta. Took a tiny bit of paint off my front bumper but it's hardly noticeable.
