Any R3V'rs in memphis? Need BBQ recommendation.

I'll be making my way through your city this evening and would like to stop for some BBQ.

I'm more a pulled pork/brisket guy over ribs.

    Any suggestions?

All listed below are good. Personally, I like Interstate..The pulled pork sandwiches are good. You have to eat them with a fork. Corkys has become to commercial and they are more known for ribs.
Rendezvous is really good too and have a lot of items.

Born in Memphis and lived in Jackson for a long time. You won't regret Corky's. Although Midwest BBQ is quite diferent tasting then Southern BBQ IMO.

      If ever in Atlanta

      Thompson brothers and Dreamland BBQ

I've also been suggested to try "Cozy Corner" on another forum.

Yeah bro pass on watching something you can only get in Memphis and definitely go to a shitty "downtown" street with shitty redneck bars and get sloppy drunk carrying a handgun like you can in any other city.

Actually Buddy, dont go to Memfrica at all. Just go straight to Graceland 2 and go home. Memphis sucks.

Graceland 2.. In my hometown of Holly Springs. That guy is nuts. Stoned Ole Miss students wake that guy up in the middle of the night
                to tour his house.

Made it to Nashville, scabzzz we actually went to Rendezvous. Good, not outstanding but solid. Then again, I've been spoiled by a particular place in Tulsa that just burned down.......they had great pulled pork with a nice vineragry sauce.

We've already decided we will be going back to Memphis soon, since all we did was stop and eat.

Oh, and the Hutton hotel is much too nice for a rednecked hillbilly like myself!

Does this mean we're going out tonight? Hit my email up man for fucks sake!

Oh and Memphis BBQ is different than other BBQ. Its more of a dry rub style IIRC. Vinegar style on the west coast and Texas. And then Apple juice infused on the east coast in the Carolinas. Correct me if Im wrong guys..

We have amazing BBQ in Nashville. I'll take you somewhere!

Whiskey kitchen is cool. Better suited for night time drinks. Go next door to Virago too. Uber modern.

Dreamland is a chain here, while good, it is still a chain. For true "Atlanta" BBQ, Harold's is the place.

                              a. Totally agree on Corky's. I actually pick up frozen pulled pork when I go to visit the fam. Been to all dozens of times and unless I am craving something specific Corky's wins. If its lunch hour on the weekend park across the street at the bank, its just easier.

                              b. Thanks for the Atlanta suggestions, its my new home.

If its pulled pork you are after its my fav thing on Corky's menu but it sounds like you are after the Carolina BBQ, that is the more vinegar sauce IMHO.
                              Im now E30less.
