Ryan,
get in touch with Halston, we should do a bbq meet (meat) soon.
Yeah, so I fired up the E30 for the first time in 5 months. Think its burning coolant. Anyone want to do an S50 head gasket for me? Although, it wasnt an unmistakable smell coming from the exhaust so something could have just died in there in the winter and I just need to cook it out.
a. Totally agree on Corky's. I actually pick up frozen pulled pork when I go to visit the fam. Been to all dozens of times and unless I am craving something specific Corky's wins. If its lunch hour on the weekend park across the street at the bank, its just easier.
b. Thanks for the Atlanta suggestions, its my new home.
If its pulled pork you are after its my fav thing on Corky's menu but it sounds like you are after the Carolina BBQ, that is the more vinegar sauce IMHO.
I believe we have Corkys here too...
Do you guys have Jim and Nicks? Probably the best BBQ I've ever had. We have some super local dive joints around here that are good too. Ive had ATL BBQ, it was good. Fuck BBQ is so easy to get right if you just cook it long enough and keep it wet.
Yeah, its the sauces that typically set places apart (even though I an a Kansas Yankee and used to dry-rub beef).
There was a place that was supposed to have bad ass midwestern BBQ according to Yelp but I guess it got raided because they were supplementing their income by dealing coke.
Not this trip, we're only in Nashville til Monday, then we are headed home. But we are wanting to hit farther east soon, but that will have to be a 10+ day trip, not just a long weekend.
