I must be doing something wrong, judging by this thread my next upgrade should be selling the S38B36 and swapping in an M20B27.

I have an super ETA as well, there's no way in hell it's beating 80% of the new cars on the road. Couple of my buddies have stock NA Lancers and pull away from it.

Something tells me this is exactly the kind of thread that gets cross-posted to BF.C and laughed at by everyone there...

My ETA steps on most of the local Honda's around where I live. There's an Audi with either a SC or Turbo that gives me a hard time but he's a really cool dude. Always a thumbs up when we pass each other which is every couple of days.

My m20b25, MAF conversion, fiberglass heatshield, 2.5 straight no cat, 4.10lsd, tune.

vs. chipped e30 325is: pulled by 4 lengths from a dig.
vs. stock e46 325i: pulled 1 car from 2nd roll.
vs. chipped, no cat m50v e36: pulled 2 cars from 3rd on the fwy.
vs. stock e36 328i. pulled half a car or more from rolling 2nd

lose
vs. 2.7i, cam, custom pistons, ect. e30: pulled 1.5 cars away then he came outa no where pulling 2 cars on me.
vs. e90 335i: dead even till in mid-shift from 2nd to 3rd then he blew my doors off. Gotta love the 4.10 lolol.


These are all my friends that I did fun runs against. I've never raced another BMW that I don't know outa no where.

Yeah I don't believe any ETA stories unless they involve out-handling a car.
ETA's are much slower than B25's. Like, MUCH. The torque kind of makes you grin...but that's about it.

the torque definitely will put a smile on your face as you putter around town. but if you realize that there is nothing there when you step on it.

etas are good for what they were designed for. going fast is not one of those parameters.
