Manual transmission is extremely rare on W201 and W124 in the US with the exception of 16v which are on their own rare. 16v used the same dogleg gearbox as the E30 M3 but with a different bell hosing. Mercedes manual transmissions are interchangeable between all gasoline or diesel W201, W124 and all inline 6 and 4 cyl engines up to 2002. You can even find 6 speed manual on the 2001 and 2002 model year cars. They only sold about 200 manual 2.6 190e in the US total. The manual 300e showed up for 1 year in 1987. Good luck finding one. 4 cyl 8 valve manual are slightly more common but still hard to find.

Thanks for the info, shit though. I'd better pay off some debts to improve my credit score so I can just buy brand-new parts. FML.

EDIT: Thanks for the info on compatible models, I'll try to use my "tiger blood" craigslist skills to source one.

i really want a 190E Sportline. have you seen the interiors? so fresh. do want all black, cream interior, slammed on bags..

the 325is was a better choice in this instance, but if by some miracle i could come across a manual 190E sportline 2.6... that'd be the one.

actually i'd settle for an auto sportline and probably do a 2JZGE + 5 speed swap. its really hard to find mercedes manuals, and the 2JZ is pretty comparable to the 2.6 M103, just has an additional .4 liters and 60 horsepower.
