How many people here build their own PC's?

I have built a few, but I am debating on whether or not to get a laptop or get another computer. pay more money for less everything and get mobility.

Has anyone built a new computer with the SLI technology? The one that has the dual gfx cards?
I was thinking about building one but damn it gets expensive. I think I'll just purchase a better gfx card for my current cpu.

Yeah, I buile one, its awesome, though my second gfx card isn't in it yet.

Heres what i got:

AMD Athlon 64 3200+ running at 2.1GHz
WD 120GB HD
Geil Dual channel 1024MB pc3200 ram
MSI GeForce 6600GT
16x dvd writer

cost me 2 grand canadian, nother video card will be around 250

i built mine,about 1.5yrs ago still running! I turned it off about 6 times during it's life period 8)

nf4ultra, amd athlonxp 2100 (stock 1.75 /\/\ 2.04gh) ati 9600xt, dell 17" monitor, WD60GB, M20gb, samsung dvd(16x)/cdrw(52x)... that's pretty much it! don't want to upgrade it in near future, I don't play games that much, just saving for E30! :D

The first machine I built was a PIII 850cpu cost 300.00 in 1999 or 2K when it was the king.

Current machine is an AMD Athlon 64 3500+ 1GHz FSB Running on a ASUS A8N DELUXE with 1GB CORSAIR XMS (2 x 512MB)PC3200 and an ATI All-In-Wonder X800 with 256MB there are 5 hdds ranging from 200 to 80 gb for a total of about 600 gigs in there and a SONY DRU 710 CD/DVD Burner and the old standby CREATIVE Sound Blaster Audigy2 ZS Platinum sits in the closet because the Nvidea board works just fine without it.

I seem to have the worst computa in tis forum....... :? it still works though :D i wanna upgrade it whenever something will brake on this one... I'd prefer, lan party mobo, thlon643000+, 1gig of (would pc3200 work ok wit 64?) two WD 10,000 RAID mofo's, and a pci vga, something flat screeniesh, a definately 7.1 sound w/ good subs ( I like techno, and mix, fl4/acid) wanna get some mixing soft, and turntables! dvd(burn)/cdrw , just a cdrw(second one). Just upgrade gradually, mobo, cpu and vga are first on da list... that's it :)
