Had this going into Reagan. It was a last minute gust that tipped the plane and took us off the runway. Pilot was legit, just got us back on the runway and landed it like a boss. The women on the plane were screaming like motherfuckers though.

I got caught at the Visalia CA airport with the girl whom was our sales rep for CB PERFORMANCE............by her live-in boy friend as we were leaving the airport to spend the weekend in Yosemite at a cabin.

She saw him and some friends waiting, freaked out, he called, she cried, he threatened me, I said bring it and your friends. I tried to convince her to go anyway....no dice, got dropped off at the airport and missed the next return flight by 5 min! I had to wait 7 hours for the next one in the airport. His friends showed up to try to intimidate me, I flicked out the spiderco ( this was obviously pre 911) , they bailed, and eventually I got back home that night and went out drinking.

Monday morning I was informed that she could no longer be our sale person and could not take any calls from me ( lame because she was actually very good and technically knowledgeable ). By tuesday, I was the talk of the air cooled VW performance industry for my weekend escapades.

Every once in a while, if I go to a VW show with drag racing, i'll get " so YOU'RE the Greg from KARL'S that I had heard about!"

I stood in line for 30 min to check my bag, bitch at counter says "oh, you want to pay with cash? youll have to go over to that line".

        God fucking damnit.

Went to "that line". While I am waiting I am watching employees behind the counter chit chat, joking, having a a swell time, doing absolutely nothing.

A whole hour passes. The same people are still at the counter straightening out their ticket situation. Line hasn't moved an inch.

My plane is leaving soon and Chicagos biggest snowstorm in decades is about to hit.

I finally reach the counter. The dude doesn't have change.

Taking off from Frankfurt on a long haul Delta L1011 flight to SFO in the early 90s, the plane got struck by lightning a few hundred feet off the ground. All the interior lights went out, engines went silent. I had the sensation of free fall for a few seconds before the engine started up again. The pilot circled around for a few minutes, determined there was no damage to the plane and we continued on our way. Plane stank of shit and piss the rest of the way.

Never really hand any bad experiance, but there is a video on youtube of a 747 comming in to hong knog airport I think with massive cross wind it is coming in a 45 degrees no joke and at the last second he straitens out and lands that motherfucker best landing ever.

Wish I was in the back left row would be funny lookin down the runway you are suposed to be landing on.

Probably the only bad experience I've had that would be worth posting was when the missus and I were following a tour around the east coast of Aus. There were three gigs, Friday night in Brisbane, Saturday night in Melbourne and Sunday night in Sydney. We booked all our flights through Tiger Airways - never having flown them before, we thought "why not"!

Flying from Brisbane to Melbourne was fine. However, on the Sunday morning, when we arrived at the airport to go to Sydney, that's when we struck trouble. We arrived half an hour before boarding closed, only to be told that there wasn't actually any seats on the plane left for us! We had paid for the tickets months in advance and were obviously pretty pissed about it. They then offered to give us seats on the next plane and $200 of credit with the airline. As there obviously wasn't anything else we could do, we agreed....and waited 5 hours for the next plane, which was then delayed anyway.

Fast-forward a couple of months to when I'm thinking of buying an E28. I'd been set on an M535i for a long time now and one finally came on the market that was worth looking at. Seeing it was in Sydney, we thought "You beauty, we've got those credits with Tiger, let's go do it with that"! Which is when trouble struck again.

You see, the bloke on the ground said we would receive credit for the debacle in Melbourne. We filled out the paperwork saying we agreed that it was ok to miss our flight because we would be reimbursed. We thought everything was hunky-dory. But then when I went to book a flight with the credits, the airline said that I didn't have any proof that I was owed anything and that there was nothing that they could do. I asked the tosser on the phone if he thought that I would honestly accept being kicked off my flight without putting up a fight, to which he replied that I was supposed to keep the paperwork I had signed and that the only course of action I could take would be to go to the airport and see if they still had it. Said airport being roughly 1700kms away, as the crow flies.

So basically what happened is that old mate said that I would be credited - just to shut me up - and then did absolutely nothing about it, leaving me and the girl completely shafted.

                      Tiger airways, never again!

Ended up taking a different flight back from Nassau an hour after my family's flight left for Charlotte and delayed in Philly for another 2 hours, an hour since the plane was late and another on the tar mack since there was a passing thunderstorm. Dad wasn't happy driving back to the airport 3 hours.

But US Airways bumped me to first class since I had to take a different flight and wait. The attendant was some chill black dude and gave me mixed drinks so the wait at Philly didn't seem as long.
