My car was in attack mode this morning

So . . I'm not sure what happened, all I know is my side of the story and that's what I will share with you all today.

The past few times I've driven to Clarksville to visit my boyfriend I've left my car at the Waffle House right off base. Very convenient, lots of extra parking so I didn't think they would mind, etc.

I drove there yesterday afternoon and intended to leave my car there til around 9 this morning.
When we drove up as we noticed an extremely loud noise. Let me describe this noise for you: instead of a car alarm that varies in it's tone and speed, this sound was as if someone was laying on their car horn, except that car horn was approximately 3-4x louder than a normal car horn.

We get out and realize it's my car. It's nearly unbearable. It was so loud I couldn't even think. But I finally got my keys and unlocked it. I tried starting it thinking that might disengage the horn; no such luck. So we got to the battery and unhooked it. Luckily the BF was there and he went ahead and ripped out the horn on the drivers side and unhooked the one on the other.

Thinking this would solve it, we hooked the battery back up but the noise came back with a vengence. So we looked around a bit more and discovered a third horn; a presumably "anti-theft" horn. I think Kevin may have just smashed it to death but either way, problem solved. I never used my horn anyway. But GOOD GOD. I had no idea a sound that loud and terrible could come from a car so old . . . and stock . .

My hypothesis is, Waffle House tried to get it towed and when the alarm horn sounded they just said fuck it. Or perhaps there was a connection problem with a fuse . . idk. I can only say I felt like I had entered into the Twilight Zone. Has this ever happened to any of you?

    *Sorry for the long version;)

LOL car alarms that you do not know about. My GF had a 1980's Holden VL Calais. One day at work the car alarm we did not know about just went off and did not stop. Disconnected the battery still kept going, so I cut the horn wires.

Ended up the car had a factory equipped alarm built into the cars ECU, for some reason it lost power so used its backup battery to sound the alarm, very annoying.

I also had a friend who rigged his own alarm up he used a speaker that emitted a high pitch squeal inside the car, it was so high and loud there was actually no physical way you could sit in the car with it going off. Best anti theft device I have seen so far.

Yeah. If I was trying to steal my car this morning I would have given up almost immediately

Not having a horn is actually dangerous I can't get mine working with my fucking grant GT wheel and I've almost been backed into in grocery parking lots on more then one occasion. A horn is very handy.
