          Yes an econ major at a top 10 school. Work hard play hard, pays off. But to the OP, don't settle. When they ask you what you expect to make you could always dance around it by saying market rate. If you go this route you better have done your HW and researched what others in your area make (like others have mentioned) and be ready to refute your stance. Then tack on the 5-10% premium to make them think you're worth it. This entry feels like deja vu.

            I respect that, but it's not the typical post college job.

            I feel like I'm doing pretty well as are several people I know and I'm definitely not looking at an opening job like that. Nicely done though.

              Its all about who you know. Find a friend who has an 'in' and go from there. Networking is sooooo important.
